C25K Program

On May 21, 2013 I began the Couch to 5K running program. You can find information about it here. It's a nine week program that gently eases you from couch potato status to being a 5K finisher. I am currently in week nine. I completed my second run of the week this morning. My third run will be the 5K Color Dash this Saturday, July 20th.

As I said, the program is designed to last nine weeks. There are three runs in each week. It really is a gradual progression and, if properly followed, can help alleviate injury. Additionally, I found a guy who created Christian playlists to correspond with each week. I listened to them for several weeks and then finally started creating my own playlists based on personal preference. You can find his website with the Christian Indie tracks here. The music is pretty interesting. Some of it actually made me laugh out loud in the middle of my run.

If you've never run before, or it's been a long time, I highly recommend the C25K Program. It really does work!
